How to make farófias in the workshop

Christmas season asks for christmas desserts. In this episode I bring together the woodworking and the portuguese cookworking by creating a gig that allows me to use the drill press as a mixer :)

RECIPE FOR FARÓFIAS (A TRADITIONAL PORTUGUESE DESSERT)
(Fluffy clouds with cream)

Ingredients:

  • 6 eggs

  • 750 ml of milk

  • 3 or 4 tablespoons of sugar

  • lemon peels

  • 2 or 3 tablespoons of corn starch (depends on how thick you want the cream)

  • cinnamon powder

Separate the whites from the yolks. Beat the egg whites. Place the milk in a large pan with the lemon peel until it comes to a boil and reduce to medium heat. Place the clouds in the milk and cook for about 3 minutes on each side. Put the fluffy clouds on a bowl carefully. Mix the egg yolks with the corn starch and sugar. Pour the mixture into the milk that stills on medium heat and always stir until it thickens. Pour the cream over the clouds and sprinkle with cinnamon. Serve after cooling completely.
